Configuring any controller is a matter of associating a device action with a menu shortcut or Hotkey in Presentation Prompter. We will configure the PowerMate as follows:
Trigger: | Action: | Shortcut: |
---|---|---|
Normal Press | Toggle Prompter | ⌘⏎ (Command + Return) |
Long Press | Switch Direction | ⌘⌥I (Command + Option + I) |
Rotate Left | Reduce Speed | Left Arrow |
Rotate Right | Increase Speed | Right Arrow |
Depending on your scroll direction preference, you may want to swap the Rotate Left and Rotate Right shortcuts.
The PowerMate software must be running for it to work. From its preferences window you can have it start automatically at you login and remove its Dock icon when running.
Finally, you can adjust the amount of speed change in Presentation Prompter for every turn of the PowerMate dial. In Presentation Prompter’s preferences, adjust the “Speed change rate” as desired.
